Welcome to My Digital Literacy Blog

Hi, my name is Arya, and welcome to my blog for EDCI 136.

This blog will document my learning throughout the course as I explore different topics related to digital literacy, online spaces, and the role technology plays in everyday life. Before this course, I mostly thought about digital literacy as just knowing how to use technology, but I am already starting to see that it involves much more than that.

Through this blog, I will be sharing my reflections, course-related thoughts, and updates on my inquiry project. One topic I am especially interested in is understanding the harms of online gambling through a digital literacy lens. I think this is an important issue because so much of online gambling is tied to persuasive design and is kind of a grey area ethics wise.

I hope this course helps me become more thoughtful and aware in the way I use digital tools and interact in online spaces. I also hope to build a stronger understanding of how digital literacy affects people on a day to day basis.
